There are good day, bad day in life. How do we really measure up how good is good or how bad is bad? Is it how much you can trolerate or how much pain you are feeling?
I think to myself, it is more painful to lose $20k in stock market or finding out the person you care and trust just betray you!??
But don't you already know when you place your bet on a person with your emotion, your heart, your time, you should be expecting that risk of betray?
So you felt completely betray, angry, furious then what next? Forgive & forget to contiune with life or walk away and start your new bet with another person.
I am a risk taker and I like to bet. I guess I like new bet to give myself new chances.

Is that the answer??????

New Chapter

It's time! Finally it is here. I was so excited yesterday when I received the news on the confirmation of the purchase of the restaurant. It might look really bare now... But the future is great!

This is definitely the new beginning of a new chapter in my life. I do not know what the future hold, but for sure, lot of hardwork toward great success.

It has to be the turning point of my life! It will be!

When I arrived in London, Eric & Joan are stilling on their way back from Spain. So I was waiting for Diana at the coffee shop nearby their house. I just flew in from Athens after 3days of meeting with my bosses. While I was travelling from airport to Earl Court in the tube, I realised someone was stalking me. I was sure that he will alight at the same station. I was right. He refused to move, waiting for me on the pathway. I went straight to the station guard, who is kind enough to escort me to the coffee shop. What an encounter.
When we got home, Diana was kind enough to prepare dinner for us. It was the best meal I had for months! All was simple, traditional Hokkien home cooked meal. Salt tulip fried egg, steam Teochew fish with preserved vegetable and plum. Chicken herbal soup, stirred fry Vegetable and steam Jasmine rice.
Although I am a chef, the luxury of someone willing to cooking for me, especially the comfort food from home, I am truly grateful and had enjoyed every second of it.

Cambridge

Arrived in Cambridge on Sunday and the most relaxing time since finish of the season. Was a good catch up with Eric and Joan in London, staying at Koh Saing place at Earl Court. It is a nice apartment and so near city center. Had a unpleasant train ride from the airport. I was follow so a Indian looking guy. So scary. Thanks God I was alert and inform the guard.
Had an interesting lunch with Nikolas and Alexandros at the Barrafina, and Princi.
I went for my haircut in Cambridge, kind of nice chatting with the Malaysian hairdresser. She mention her husband just open a Malaysian restaurant so we went for lunch. Can;t imagine how much I miss the Penang prawn noodle soup, laska and Bau ku ta. Then we went to the kids kindergarten and primary school. Kind of interest to see how the kids are in school.

Hot Air balloon

I had always love the feeling of flying in the hot air balloon. Freedom, so quiet, so silent...u can heard the wind blow.. feel the sunrise... smell the fresh air!! I love it. Richard Branson is my admirer, he love life, challenge, fun at his work. I read all his book and always feel that he approach of handling life, work, people are similar to what I like and do, so I take his as my role model. If I ever have 1 chance to work with him, that will be amazing.
He flow around the world in ballroom. Fail many times, but keep going...!
This is my second time in my life I am doing this. It was the most beautiful exciting flying over the safari. What else more can u ask for?

I was always finding excuse for not writing, calling, emailing....even texting. the worse kind to keep the simplest way of connecting with people. I used to be the slave of mobile phone, pagers, blackberry. Black and white apple laptop in 1993, smallest pagers in the markets 1994,first mobile phone 1996, first blackberry 2004. Now, I do not even own one and my mobile is pre-paid. It does not bother me anymore with the gadgets but will really like to get my communication skill back a little. Started blogging a little when I met up with my friend Jodee in Budapest. Was so motivated to keep up the habits but of course gone out of the window. Decided to log back in couples of weeks ago and was reading the experiences of days 3years ago and really it is nice to look back the nice experience. Hopeful this time around i can do better for myself.
Now still in Mykonos, waiting to see if the restaurant venture will go through. Very exciting but the same time scare the shit out of me. Everyone knows I am the victim of non commitment. I ran fast enough the other direction. It is a big step but isn't this what I always what? Life works very strangely. When you got what you wish for, you finds excuse for yourself there is something missing.....should be this way or that... WHY WHY WHY we never happy of what we got or going to have! Is it have to be that dilemma drama in life?

Japanese pizza man!!! On testing tomorrow all the way from Japan! Let's see how this will read in 2years time!!

After almost a decade, I am overjoy to see my housemate of Oxford st in Sydney for the first time in India. It seem like yesterday that we had seem each other, we pick up where we left off quickly. Varun is running his family hotel and expand his empire, building new hotel nearby keeping himself busy.

We used to spend some much fun together in Sydney! Really miss those golden days!

I was in Zurich, Baur au Lac for 1week promotion for Nobu. It was a very successful event with lot of great feedback. On the last days, I was browsing through the old town of Zurich and found my favourite Hungary food, Langos!! So exciting!

Not sure what to complain if you have this view from your window everyday. Arrived in St Moritz now for more than 2weeks. Forgotten how cold it is over here. It is -23c at the moment and the lake is freezing up. If the next few weeks, the lake will turning to the polo and white turf ground.

Unusual supermarket items

Frog as a delicacy is not unusual in Singapore. However, I was amazed when I went to a local supermarket and found live frogs available. New trend of having live seafoods like crabs, prawns and fishes are now commonly found in supermarket but having frogs is still a bit wierd for me.

Cactus is a plant that grown all around Mykonos island. A lot of the local chefs use it as a ingredient for their sauces or salad. It is quite a interest texture and can be quite delicious.

Went with couples of friends to Klee, a cocktail bar in Portdowns Road, Singapore. Nice setting with long bar counter. There is no menu, the barman will ask you what you like and he will create something on the spot.

Yesterday I went to a Japanese restaurant Aoki in Singapore. We had the Chef's choice Omakase menu. The chef served extra large with Oyster. Very deilicious. Also white fish with slice summer truffle with chopped kombu, ikura with marinated in Yuzu juice, Uni with Ika. After a great meal, we went to F1 qualifying round. It was such a great experience to see it live.

Tempura is a very common Japanese dish around the world. In Tokyo, sesame oil is usually use to deep fried the food instead of cottonseed oil. Seafood or variety of vegetables are dip into a icy cold batter before frying in oil. Served with grated diakon and warm soy sauce dip.

Don't be fooled by the picture. This is not Wagyu beef. It is another Japanese delicacy. Toro is the belly of blue fin tuna fish. It is sold as expensive as Wagyu beef and usually eaten raw in sashimi or sushi.

Kobe beef are eaten many ways in Japan. Sashimi style, lightly grilled on the outside over open fire is my favourite. The fat will melt and crave smokey flavour to the meat. YUMMY!!! I recommend not to eat it more than medium rare in cooking.
